Hiroki Shioda (D1)

About research

When I first shared my ideas, the professors turned them into proper research themes, which shows how much freedom we have in our research. If we need anything for our projects, we often team up with research institutions inside and outside of the University of Tokyo.

Lab life

We have international students from various countries, and there's a lot of interaction and exchange. Last year, some of us got together to visit Mt. Fuji and had a BBQ!

Maiko Yamaguchi (M1)

Lab life

I come to the lab in the morning and primarily conduct experiments and analyze results. I often get the chance to interact not just with seniors involved in my research but also with students in other topics.

About professors

Professors often join us for welcome and farewell parties, and sometimes we even play tennis or go skiing together. They're friendly and approachable in everyday life too.
