Organization of 3D tissue/organ and mass transfer
-Cultured cell-based engineering of human metabolism—
  • Process development for mass production and differentiation of stem cells
  • In vitro organization and growth of implantable liver and pancreas beta-cell tissues
  • Development of advanced cell-based assays and their applications to efficacy/hazard evaluations
  • Evaluation of microplastic effects in humans using cultured organ models and mathematical sumilation
  • Experimental and numerical analyses of organization of heterogenic cell-base tissues

Our researcher, Dr. Torizal achieved the highest cell density in iPS proliferation using dialysis operation and it was published in “Communication Biology” as of Nov 19, 2021 (*). UTokyo Eng School dispatched press release (Japanese) and the contents were introduced by several newspapers and webnews sites. Using dialysis operation, we successfully reduced the culture cost, which is mostly decided by the exogenous growth factors, to 1/8 through full utilization of both exogeneous and endogenous (self-secreted) growth factors.
